Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) congratulated the candidates selected this year in the Civil Services Examination.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi, on the 30th of May, Monday, took to Twitter and said, “Congratulations to all those who have cleared this year’s #UPSC civil services exam.  Very happy to see women bag the top 3 ranks.  All of you now have a great responsibility of serving India with utmost integrity and commitment.  My best wishes for your future careers.” 

On the 30th of May, the Civil Service Examination results were declared, in which Shruti Sharma has topped, followed by Ankita Agarwal, who secured the second position and Gamini Singlaco stood at the third spot.

The results of the 2021 Civil Service Examination were released on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC.)

In addition, a total of 23 students of Jamia Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) have been selected this year of the 9,214 candidates, who qualified for the Written (Main) Examination which was held in January 2022.   In addition, of the qualified, 685 candidates including 508 men and 177 women were recommended for appointment.   Among those successful, 244 are from the general category, 73 from the Economically Weaker Sections, 203 of the Other Backward Classes, 105 from the Scheduled Caste and 60 from the Scheduled Tribes.

The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages, preliminary, main, and interview — to select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and the Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.

Furthermore, the written or main part of the examination was conducted in January 2022 and the interviews were held in April and May this year.
