Rahul Gandhi Mocks PM Modi Over Saeed's Release

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi decided to take a jab at Prime Minister Modi for the release of Hafiz Saeed. The soon to be Congress President Tweeted, “Narendrabhai, ??? ???? ???. Terror mastermind is free. President Trump just delinked Pak military funding from LeT. Hugplomacy fail. More hugs urgently needed.”

On the 24th of November, Saeed was released by the Pakistani Government from house arrest in Lahore. The end of his house arrest saw a large number of supporters celebrating outside the terrorist’s house. The police guards posted outside Saeed’s house were removed after the Government declared he was free.

In January this year, Saeed was put under house arrest after the U.S. President Donald Trump threatened severe action against countries supporting terrorism.

The United Nations and the United States have both declared Saeed as a global terrorist with a $ 10 million bounty on his head. Releasing the mastermind behind the Mumbai attacks in 2008 has resulted in a lot of negative feelings towards Pakistan.

But Pakistan defends the release by saying India failed to provide solid evidence to prosecute Saeed for his crimes.
