On Friday, Rahul Gandhi will chair his first Congress Working Committee (CWC) as the President of the party. The CWC will begin with a warm welcome to Mr. Gandhi as the new President.
The CWC will discuss the rise of Congress’ seat count in Gujarat as well as the 2G Spectrum Scam verdict. The BJP had used the 2G Scam to point fingers at the Congress during the fierce campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha Polls. The alleged corruption under the UPA Government led to their defeat.
A source has stated the Congress plans to take the 2G issue to the people and a plan will be formalized soon. The Party’s highest decision making body, CWC will also adopt a resolution to this effect. The meeting will also focus on PM Modi’s remark that Manmohan Singh colluded with Pakistan to influence the Gujarat Polls.
The sources did not reveal the agenda of the meeting. Rahul Gandhi has chaired the CWC in the past in the absence of his mother Sonia Gandhi. Mr. Gandhi was elected the President of Congress after an unopposed candidate on the 11th of December.
