Ravichandran Ashwin, an India allrounder Cricketer, tested positive for the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
According to sources, Mr. R. Ashwin would not travel to England for the upcoming Edgbaston Test, scheduled to be held from the 1st of July to the 5th of July. Furthermore, Mr. R. Ashwin is under quarantine in Mumbai and missed the flight with his fellow team members, who flew to England for the series. The Indian squad for the Edgbaston Test Match is currently in Leicester and started training under the supervision of bowling coach Mr. Paras Mhambrey and batting coach Mr. Vikram Rathour.
Meanwhile, Mr. R. Ashwin would only join the squad after meeting all the Wuhan virus protocol requirements. A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the same and said, “Ashwin hasn’t traveled with the squad to the UK as he has tested positive for Covid-19 before departure.” the BCCI source further said, “But we are hopeful that he will recover well in time before the Test match starts on July 1. However, he might miss the practice game against Leicestershire.”
On the other hand, other members like Mr. Rahul Dravid, Mr. Rishabh Pant, and Mr. Shreyas Iyer reached London after finishing the T20I series against South Africa, and would now travel to Leicester on the 21st of June, Tuesday.
