Sachin Pilot, the former Deputy Chief Minister of the Indian National Congress (INC) moved the Rajasthan High Court (HC) against the disqualification notice.

On the morning of the 16th of July, C.P. Joshi, the Rajasthan Assembly Speaker, issued a disqualification notice to Sachin Pilot and 18 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs.)

The disqualification notice was issued after the INC led Rajasthan Government decided to remove Sachin Pilot as the Deputy Chief Minister and INC President of Rajasthan.

In response to this, Sachin Pilot’s political team filed a petition against the disqualification notice issued by C.P. Joshi.

Prithviraj Meena, a MLA supporting Sachin Pilot filed the petition, which says ‘Rajasthan Assembly Speaker is under the influence of Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.’

Advocate Harish Salve and advocate Mukul Rohatgi would represent Sachin Pilot and the 18 rebel MLAs. Whereas, the Rajasthan Assembly Speaker C.P. Joshi would be represented by Rajasthan advocate general Mahendra Singhvi.

The hearing regarding the filed petition began at 3:00 P.M., on the 16th of July.
