Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder in Punjab created uproar, with the constant demand for a CBI probe. On June 2, Moose Wala’s family wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asking for a central-agency probe into Sidhu, who was shot on May 29. Moreover, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also met Moose Wala’s father and confirmed the development. Meanwhile, the AAP-led Punjab Government constituted a team for Moose Wala’s murder case.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, ordered a probe under the sitting High Court judge, in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.
On the 30th of May, Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and State Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, requested the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court to get the case of Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder investigated by a sitting judge of the court. The development came after Mr. Balkaur Singh, the father of Mr. Sidhu Moose Wala demanded a probe under the sitting HC judge and wrote to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
In addition, Mr. Balkaur Singh also demanded an apology from the Director-General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, for linking Mr. Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder with a gang war. The letter read, “Punjab government shall be requesting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court to get the case enquired into by the sitting judge.”
On the evening of the 29th of May, Sunday, the Punjabi singer turned politician was shot dead in Punjab, creating a tense situation and political ruckus in the State of Punjab.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Punjab Government assured full support of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) and police to investigate the murder case.
