Sushma Swaraj Co Chairs 16th Joint Meeting In Vietnam

Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister (EAM) co-chairs the 16th Joint Commission Meeting with Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh. The EAM will be in Vietnam and then Cambodia on a four day tour. The main agenda for this trip is to strengthen the strategic cooperation of India with foreign countries especially focusing on the ASEAN region.

Sushma Swaraj began the tour on Monday, the 27th of August to Vietnam and will be leaving for Cambodia on the 29th of August, reported by the External Affairs Ministry.

The meeting seems fruitful and provides an opportunity to deepen the discussions with political leadership on major topics of global, regional and bilateral issues.

Ms. Swaraj along with the Vietnamese Minister also met foreign dignitaries from Bangladesh, Japan and Sri Lanka. Their discussion was with the motive of building a good productive relationship. They also talked about the sidelines of the Third Indian Ocean Conference which was inaugurated by Ms. Swaraj.

The Camboidia meeting is scheduled for tomorrow where she will hold bilateral meetings with her Cambodian counterpart and the Cambodian Prime Minister and President.
