Amid the Wuhan virus (COVID-19) situation, the West Bengal Government led by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) came up with a unique physical classes idea.

In order to avoid violation of Wuhan virus protocols and ensure a safe environment, the TMC announced to conduct “Open Air Programme Paray Shikshalaya.”  Conducted in parks and clubs, the classes would be for pre-primary classes, for class I to VII. Starting from February 7.  Notably, these classes will ensure the mandatory presence of students who took education and online classes lightly.  Despite efforts of the Education Department, there were students who failed to attend online classes with attention, giving a tough time to the education.

a senior officer of the state education department said that more than six million kids studying in pre-primary and primary classes will be benefitted. More than 184,000 teachers, 21,000 para teachers, and 38,000 sahayaks will be taking the classes in the neighborhood.

“Classes would be held in open-air. Some schools have decided to hold the paray shikshalay classes in their school grounds,” said the officer.

“It has been almost two years that students of pre-primary and primary classes have not attended schools. Even though online classes have been going on, this is adversely affecting the children. Hence, this project has been launched wherein teachers would hold open-air classes, said the Education Minister Mr. Bratya Basu.

Although it is challenging as many classes continue simultaneously, it will bring mainstream education back to students.

Stay tuned for further updates.
