Mr. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, announced a three member judicial commission to probe the recent killing of Atiq Ahmed.
After the encounter of Asad Ahmed, the son of gangster turned politician Atiq Ahmed, on the 16th of April, Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf also was killed. Notably, all three Asad, Atiq and Ashraf are wanted criminals, involved in the murder of Umesh Pal.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Uttar Pradesh Government said, they would probe the matter and formed a special panel in this regard. In addition, due to the ongoing encounter and killing of Umesh Pal Murder accused, Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been imposed in Jhansi and Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
In addition, the State is also on high alert and senior officials, led by Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjay Prasad are rushing to Prayagraj to supervise the situation.
Officials said that 17 police personnel assigned in the security of Atiq and his brother have been suspended.
