Suhas L. Yathiraj reached the finals of the Badminton event in the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games.
On the 3rd of September, Mr. Suhas L. Yathiraj won the semi finals of the badminton event and became the first Indian Civil Servant to represent India in the Paralympic Games. In the semi finals of the men’s single L4 Badminton event, after having a neck to neck fight, Yathiraj won after scoring 21-15 against Fredi Setiawan of Indonesia. The Indian shuttler won the first game with 21-9 and in the second game he secured 21-15.
With such a strong beginning, India is hoping to bag more medals with the outstanding performance of athletes. It is to be noted that in the recently held Tokyo Olympics 2020, India performed better compared to the last Olympic event held in 2019 and secured a total of 7 medals including one Gold Medal.
The 2021 Tokyo Paralympics, started from the 25th of August, is scheduled to continue till the 5th of September, Sunday.
