India Look to Build on Series Lead

India and New Zealand are facing each other in the second match of their five-game ODI series. After winning the opening game, India have a chance to strengthen their position in the series.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second ODI at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on November 7. Both teams have retained their playing XIs.

India lead the series 1-0 after securing a five-wicket win in the first match at Auckland on Wednesday. Indian bowlers restricted New Zealand to 185 runs in 40.2 overs in the rain-affected game.

Virat Kohli then played a key role in the chase, scoring 74 runs off 51 balls to help India reach the target.

India captain Shubman Gill said the overcast conditions and the pitch, which had been covered, influenced his decision to bowl first. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner said his team would aim to put up a good total.

New Zealand will play without Devon Conway, who has been ruled out of the series due to a concussion suffered during training. Both sides will now look to make the most of the second ODI.
