MD. Shabnam, a resident of Visakhapatnam and a cricket player of the women’s cricket team, has been felicitated on the 15th of December, Thursday.
Mr. A. Mallikarjuna, the District Collector of Visakhapatnam and Mr. P. Sarath Chandra Reddy, the President of the Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association (VDCA) felicitated Md. Shabnam. It is to be noted, she has been selected to represent India in the World Cup Under-19 women’s cricket team.
The VDCA members, Vice Presidents of the VDCA Mr. D.S. Varma and Mr. T.S.R Prasad along with the VDCA Secretary Mr. K. Parthasaradhi attended the event.
During the event, the Visakhapatnam Cricket Association presented a one time scholarship under ‘Beti Padhao’ sponsored by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited to MD. Shabnam. The private company issued the scholarship under its corporate social responsibility initiative and handed over a cheque for Rs. 50,000 to Ms. Md. Shabnam.
Meanwhile, the women’s U-19 World Cup would be of matches, including Twenty 20 International format against New Zealand.
The U-19 World Cup of Women’s Cricket Team would begin on the 14th of January and would continue till the 29th of January 2023.
