The Asaduddin Owaisi led All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) said they are willing to form an alliance with the National Congress Party (NCP) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

On the 19th of March, Mr. Imtiaz Jaleel, the AIMIM leader said, “The Shiv Sena led the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.” He further added that the Asaduddin Owaisi-led party is not the ‘B’ team of BJP as alleged by mainstream parties.  He also highlighted that Mr. Rajesh Tope, the leader of the NCP visited his residence and said, “Tope visited me on Friday, days after lost my mother due to an illness.  It is always alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party wins because of us (AIMIM- due to splitting of Muslim votes).  To prove this allegation wrong I proposed to Tope that we are ready for an alliance.  However, he didn’t say anything about my offer.”

Now we want to see whether these are just allegations against AIMIM or they (Congress and NCP) are ready to join hands with us, he added.  Queried about the likely stand of Shiv Sena regarding AIMIM’s offer, the Aurangabad MP avoided a direct reply.

Mr. Jaleel further said, “The fact is that these parties want votes of Muslims.  Why only NCP? The Congress also says they are secular and they also want votes of Muslims.  We are ready to join hands with them too.  The BJP has done the maximum damage to this country.  We are ready to do everything to defeat them.”

However, on the 19th of March, Mr. Sanjay Raut, the Spokesperson of the Shiv Sena, refused rumors of forming an alliance with the AIMIM.  He said the party which has ideals of Aurangzeb cannot tie up with the Shiv Sena.

Mr. Sanjay said, “The AIMIM has a secret alliance with the BJP which was proved in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal elections. The AIMIM is a ‘B’ team of the BJP and will remain so.  The MVA is a three-party alliance and there is no room for a fourth partner.”
