On the 17th of January, Tuesday, the eighth and last Nizam of Hyderabad Nizam Mir Barket Ali Khan Walashan Mukarram Jah Bahadur, would be buried with the full state honours.
Notably, On the 15th of January, Sunday, the Nizam Family issued an official statement and confirmed the demise of the eighth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mr. Mir Barket Ali Khan Walashan Mukarram Jah Bahadur. The statement read, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that Nawab Mir Barket Ali Khan Walashan Mukarram Jah Bahadur, H.E.H The Eighth Nizam of Hyderabad passed away peacefully in Istanbul, Turkey late last night at 10:30 pm (IST.) As per his desire of being laid to rest in his homeland, his children are scheduled to travel to Hyderabad with the mortal remains of the late Nizam on Tuesday, 17th January 2023 (sic.)”
On Tuesday, the mortal remains of Mir Barket Ali would be shifted to Hyderabad’s Chowmahalla Palace, where as per the eighth Nizam’s desire, his body would be buried. After completing the required rituals for the funeral process, the burial would occur at the Asaf Jahi family tombs in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The burial ceremony would be attended by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Home Minister Mr. Mohammed Ali and other leaders.
Mr. Mohammed Ali expressed his condolences and mourned his death and recalled the good works of the eighth Nizam in the field of medicine and education in Telangana.
Meanwhile, with the demise of the eighth or the last Nizam Mir Barket Ali, the legacy of Nizams in Hyderabad came to an end in Telangana.
