The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC,) on the 1st of March, announced to provide free bus services to the Ukraine returnees.
On Tuesday, the Telangana Government-run State buses issued a statement which said, the students who returned from Ukraine would get free rides to their natives. Additional buses would run from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) to major regions of Telangana.
The decision to do so was taken by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana. Furthermore, Mr. V.C. Sajjanar, the Managing Director (MD) of the TSRTC said, the announced services would continue until all the Ukraine returnee students reach their home town in Telangana, safely.
Meanwhile, control rooms would also be set up at the Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi to help the students who would be traveling to Hyderabad.
It is to be noted, the Central Government has launched Operation Ganga to bring back Indians and students stranded in Ukraine, amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine invasion fight. As of now, approximately 20,000 Indians are stuck in Ukraine, of which 8,000 left the nation on the advisories of the Indian Embassy in Ukraine.
