Lokesh Kumar, the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) on the 19th of May, announced the guidelines for the lockdown 4.0 in the GHMC limit.
According to the issued guidelines for containment zone, Hyderabad, shops would be allowed to open on alternate days based on their shop door numbers. Odd number stores would be allowed to open on the odd days, whereas shop numbers with even numbers would be open on even days.
Commissioner Kumar said, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday would be 1,3 and 5. Whereas, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays would be 2, 4 and 6. However, in areas where door numbers are missing, officials would permit opening of the corner most shops in the street and implement alternate processes from there on.
If any kind of dispute or violation of the guidelines is reported in the future, the GHMC authority would announce complete lockdown, restricting all the shops from opening until the 31st of May.
However, these regulations do not apply to shopping malls, restaurants, pubs, bars and cinema halls, as they would remain closed in Telangana as per Government guidelines till the 31st of May.
Precautions to be followed at the stores:
- Everyone in the store, staff and customers should wear face masks.
- No Mask – No Goods should be followed.
- A fine of Rs.1000 would be imposed if someone is not wearing face masks.
- There should be a set up of markers and circles for social / physical distance with a minimum of 4 steps.
- Hand sanitizer should be provided at all entry and exit points at the shops.
- Common touch points such as elevator buttons and door handles should be indicated by red.
- If possible, automatic doors should be installed.
