GHMC Elections: BJP Leader Tejaswi Surya Attacks TRS-AIMIM, Says Duo Turned Politics Into Private Enterprise

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a jibe at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM.)

Ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, the Bengaluru South Member of Parliament (MP) Tejaswi Surya said the TRS-AIMIM are running politics like a private enterprise.

During an event “Change Hyderabad,” as a chief guest, Mr. Surya said with a theme of “Marpu Kosam Janam and Janam Kosam BJP” (People for a change and BJP for the People) “People see in one election the face of CM KCR (Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao,) in another that of Minister KTR (K.T. Rama Rao) and in yet another, the face of Minister T. Harish Rao. When it comes to (the) GHMC elections, the faces surface are of Owaisi brothers, Asadduddin (Owaisi) and Akbaruddin (Owaisi.)”

Mr. Surya taking a dig at the TRS and the AIMIM relations said, the family owned parties in Telangana and Hyderabad have rewritten the very definition of democracy as “of the family, by the family, and for the family.”

Asking support for the BJP in the upcoming GHMC elections, Tejaswi Surya said under the rule of the BJP, corruption is cutting down and development is taking place.

Agreeing with Mr. Surya, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy said Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (U.P.,) Bihar, Karnataka are a few to name as examples where the BJP Government worked hard to get rid of corruption.

Assuring democratic and development oriented government, the BJP leader asked for youth support.

Taking a dig at Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.T. Rama Rao said, Kishan Reddu said that it was the TRS which had been siding with the Owaisi brothers known for making sacrilegious statements against Hindu gods and goddesses. He further said, it was the trade of TRS-AIMIM to create communal discord among people for political benefits.

In addition, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana, siad, “No roads, no basic amenities, no water, no double bedroom houses, no jobs, the TRS has failed people of Telangana on all fronts.”

He further asked the people to give a chance to the BJP this time like they gave to the Indian National Congress (INC,) the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the TRS.

Mr. Kumar also promised to make the Old City a Bhagyanagar, whereas the TRS-MIM combine was trying to turn Bhagyanagar into an Old City.

The GHMC elections for 150 wards are scheduled to be held on the 1st of December.

The results of the elections would be declared on the 4th of December.

Stay tuned for further updates.
