K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on the 23rd of September, conducted a meeting about the Godavari River.
The meeting was organised to discuss water issues and sharing the Godavari River’s water between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The meeting started at 4:00 P.M., at Pragati Bhavan, Telangana.
During the meeting, the AP CM and the Telangana CM decided to link the Godavari River and the Krishna River so both the Telugu states can get an adequate amount of water and solve the existing water issues.
Y.S. Jagan and KCR further discussed from where Godavari River’s water can be diverted to the Krishna River with less land acquisition.
K. Chandrashekar Rao and Jagan Mohan Reddy also planned to adapt a give and take approach to solve all the common issues in AP and Telangana.
Recently, Telangana recruited 18,000 police personnel, whose training is yet to start. As the number of police personnel is quite high, KCR requested Jagan to train 4,000 police recruitees of Telangana in AP.
Jagan Mohan Reddy agreed to the give and take approach and assured the training of the 4,000 police personnel.
The meeting also included discussions about several other problems and topics pertaining to AP and Telangana.
The meeting was attended by Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) officials and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) officials.
