Huzurabad Assembly by election was a tough fight between the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
However, with a majority of votes, Mr. Eatala Rajender, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate of the BJP won the by poll against the rival TRS. Mr. Eatala Rajender won with a majority of 23,800 voted against Mr. Gellu Srinivas Reddy, the MLA candidate of the TRS.
Strategic announcement of schemes like the Dalit Bandhu scheme and distribution of money and liquor failed to help the ruling TRS win the Huzurabad byelection.
Despite such schemes, voters shifted to the BJP, due to which the TRS lost the stronghold of the Assembly constituency. Since 2004, the TRS has a strong hold in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency and since 2009, Mr. Eatala Rajender was representing the Assembly constituency and won for his good works and efforts as a good MLA. With this it could be said, the people of Huzurabad did not vote for the BJP but Mr. Eatala Rajender.
The major reason behind the BJP’s victory in the Huzurabad Assembly by election is Mr. Eatala Rajender as the MLA.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP in Telangana, Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, the Union Home Minister for State of Telangana and other BJP leaders extended, congratulatory messages and wishes to the newly elected MLA of the Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
With this, the BJP leaders like Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Mr. G. Kishan Reddy also predicted the downfall of dethroning of the TRS in the next 2024 Telangana Assembly elections.
