The polling for the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) seat for the Huzurabad Assembly constituency is underway.
On the 30th of October, till 1:00 P.M., 45.63 % voter turnout was recorded in the poll bound Assembly constituency. The polling in the Huzurabad constituency started at 7:00 A.M., and would continue till 6:30 P.M.
A total of 2.37 lakh voters are eligible to cast their votes for the 30 candidates in the fray. The State Election Commission organised tight security at 306 polling stations across the constituency of the Karimnagar district, Telangana.
It is to be noted, after the resignation of Mr. Eatala Rajender as the Huzurabad MLA and the TRS member, the Huzurabad Assembly seat fell vacant. With the political tension between Mr. Eatala Rajender and the TRS President Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Huzurabad by election is said to be a serious battle between the BJP and the TRS. Since Mr. Eatala Rajender joined the BJP and is to contest the Huzurabad by election on a BJP ticket, the chances of victory of the BJP and the TRS are at 50-50. Both the parties are trying to get the attention of voters and gain the maximum number of votes for their respective MLA candidates.
The voting would continue till 6:30 P.M., in the evening and the counting of the votes would be held on the 2nd of November, following which results would be announced.
