The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL,) on the 5th of October, announced Metro trains will run every 3 minutes.

N.V.S. Reddy, the Managing Director of the HMRL, said due to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) strike, the Metro trains will run with an interval of 3 minutes.

The TSRTC employees called for an indefinite strike from the 5th of October and are protesting against the Telangana Government, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)  The employees went on strike as their long standing demand of the TSRTC being merged with the State Government was not fulfilled.

Although the usual time of the Metro trains is 6:00 A.M., to 10:30 P.M., the trains will run from 5:00 A.M., to 11:30 P.M., to make it easier for the public to commute.

Besides, the HMRL also decided to deploy additional staff at the ticket counters to manage the heavy rush at Metro stations.  Senior officials will be present at major Metro stations like LB Nagar, Ameerpet, HITEC City, Secunderabad East and Parade Grounds.

Stay tuned for further updates.
