Hyderabad Police Registers Case Against BJP MP Tejaswi Surya

The Hyderabad police on the 26th of November, registered a case against the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha Tejaswi Surya.

The case was booked against Tejasvi Surya for entering Osmania University and addressing a meeting without permission.

The Hyderabad police booked a case of criminal trespass after the Osmania University authority complaint against him.

Telangana Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy registered the case.

The case was registered three days after Tejaswi Surya addressed a campaign for the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

Mr. Surya is also a member of Parliament from Bengaluru and his followers threw open the university gate and removed the barricades to enter the campus.

The leader addressed the students at Arts College and claimed that the police at the behest of the Telangana Government tried to stop him.

The police, however, had denied this allegations.

M. Ramesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Zone, took to Twitter and said, police has not stopped any one at the Osmania University gate and that the programme is going on smoothly.

Mr. Reddy said, “The law and order situation is peaceful and there is no tension as reported.”

After the case was registered, the BJP has condemned booking of the case against Tejaswi Surya.

Party’s national general secretary Bhupender Yadav said this shows the desperation of the Telangana Government. He said KCR is clearly rattled having sensed a reinvigoration of the revolutionary spirit in the youth of Telangana.

The GHMC elections are scheduled to be held on the 1st of December.

The results of the GHMC elections would be announced on the 4th of December. The major parties contesting the GHMC elections are the BJP, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

Stay tuned for further updates.
