In Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills, an incident of gang rape was reported on the 3rd of June, Friday.
Although the incident happened a week back, the case was registered on the 3rd of June. In the complaint, the 17-year-old victim said, she was attacked by five minors, who molested and gang-raped her in a Mercedes car. Getting into the details, the victim, a teenager, went to a pub for a party with a friend. While the friend left early, the victim stayed and reportedly befriended a boy. The victim then left the club with one of the accused and his friends, as they promised her to drop her home. However, after driving for a while, they stopped at a pastry shop and then parked the car in a secluded area of Jubilee Hills. They raped the girl turn by turn, while other accused were guarding the car outside.
Furthermore, the Hyderabad police said, the minor accused, who are said to be the students of classes XI and XII, belong to politically influential families in Hyderabad. One of the accused, who did not rape the girl, but was with the other accused is said to be the son of a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA.)
Mr. Joel Davis, a police officer said, “Her father approached us. According to whatever he told us we filed a case of outraging modesty and under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offence.) He was not sure what happened, the girl was not in a position to reveal anything.” He further added, “She could not reveal the identity of the accused. She only had one name. Based on the footage and technical evidence, we are looking for the suspects.”
The police registered a case and are investigating the matter.
