On Friday, the Cyberabad Police cyber crime detectives arrested a Nigerian man after he duped a woman from the City with the pretext of getting her employment. The accused, Chidiebere Vincent, a resident of Delhi and citizen of Nigeria duped the woman of almost Rs. 7.15 Lakhs. He approached her in December 2016 saying that she secured a job at KCA DEUTAG and to contact Tony More Travelling Ltd., for completing her visa process.
The victim when she approached the company was asked to pay the Rs. 6.5 lakh at once for processing. The girl borrowed this amount from her colleagues and mortgage her gold to arrange the money. After completing the payment at the travel agency she was informed that her VISA papers have been dispatched by another company called Goodwill Services. It was at this stage Vincent came into the light again and said as her papers are being held by the customs department she has to pay an extra charge of Rs. 65,000 for the release.
After collecting the money, the accused and the organizations stopped responding which planted the seed of doubt in the victim’s head and she approached the Hyderabad Police. The Police then forwarded the case to Cyberabad Crime Department. The Crime Department made an in-depth investigation and caught the accused on Friday.
