Hyderabad’s Balanagar Flyover To Be Ready By March End, Launch Expected On Ugadi

One of the most awaited flyovers of Hyderabad, Balanagar flyover is set to complete the work by March end.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) have set themselves a target and are confident of completing the works by March end.

The Balanagar flyover is a six lane two way flyover, which is being constructed between Balanagar Crossroads and Narsapur Crossroads. The length of the flyover is about 1.13 km and the width is 24 metre.

The flyover was started two years back to ease traffic on the Balanagar main road, providing smooth travel for motorists. They can cross over to Narsapur and Fathenagar T junction, avoiding traffic. The construction started in 2018 and missed several deadlines for completing the work, due to land acquisition issues.

On the 5th of February, a senior official at the HMDA, who wished to be anonymous said, the works would be completed by this March and flyover would be thrown open to the commuters by Ugadi, the 13th of April.

However, an official announcement regarding the opening ceremony is yet to be made.

The construction cost of Balanagar flyover is at Rs. 387 crores, of which Rs. 265 crore is for the land acquisition and the remaining Rs. 122 crores for the civil works.

Stay tuned for further updates.
