Revanth Reddy, a member of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC,) was detained by the Telangana police on the 9th of January.
According to sources, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Malkajgiri constituency was detained and was taken to Pahadi Sharif Police Station.
Mr. Reddy allegedly engaged in a heated argument at the inauguration ceremony of a water tank in Kothapet.
Mr. Reddy said, “Minister K.T. Rama Rao sent an invitation, that the inaugural ceremony will be held at LB Nagar at 12:30 P.M., on Saturday. But, the inauguration was done by the TRS party leaders and other officials at 11:00 A.M. When I arrived I was stopped by the police.”
Mr. Revanth Reddy expressed his anger at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders who ignored him and insulted him by inaugurating the water tank much before the scheduled time.
Soon after arriving at Kothapet, Mr. Reddy along with a few Indian National Congress (INC) supporters tore the flag of the TRS and created a ruckus on the road.
Mr. Reddy even protested and criticised the ruling TRS Government.
Soon, police rushed to the spot and arrested Revanth Reddy.
As of now, Mr. Reddy is in Pahadi Sharif Police Station.
