After the resignation of the Uttam Kumar Reddy, many senior Congress leaders are eyeing on the TPCC chief. It is learned that the majority of the party leaders have given their support to Revanth Reddy and Komati Reddy in one-to-one interaction with the AICC state in-charge Manickam Tagore.
Manickam Tagore who visited Hyderabad has interacted with all the important leaders in the party and gathered their views on the leaders in the race. He also a meeting with the party leaders — T Jagga Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, Jeevan Reddy and MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
On the other hand, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and D Sridhar Babu are said to be leaving for Delhi today. T Jagga Reddy may also visit Delhi tomorrow. However, no confirmation has been obtained on finalizing the TPCC Chief.
Besides, Revanth and Komatireddy, leaders like V. Hanumantha Rao, Marri Shashidar Reddy, Damodara Raja Narasimha, Madhu Yashki, Bhatti Vikramarka, Ponna Prabhakar and Ponnala Lakshmaiah are also in the race for the post of TPCC chief.
According to the sources, the party high command wants either MLA or MP or MLC for TPCC chief post. The party leaders are heading to Delhi to meet AICC in charge Manickam to gain the favour.
However, Sonia Gandhi, the interim President of the INC is to take a final nod on appointing TPCC Chief.
