On the 1st of May, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) made remarks on Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.
According to sources, on Sunday, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy addressed a public gathering and said that Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao is scared of Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC.) He said the major reason behind objecting to the visit of Mr. Rahul Gandhi is that KCR is afraid of Mr. Rahul Gandhi. ‘
Mr. A. Revanth Reddy further asked, why KCR was obstructing Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the Osmania University. He further said, the Telangana Police arrested Mr. Jagga Reddy, a leader of the TPCC, which has been claimed to be as per the directions of KCR. Pointing the same, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy said the arrest of party Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mr. Jagga Reddy, who was going to the Osmania University (OU) campus was a classic example to prove that KCR was scared of Rahul Gandhi. He added, “I wonder if we are living in a democracy or a feudal State?” Furthermore, taking a dig at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) Mr. A. Revnath Reddy said the lavish life enjoyed by KCR and his children was because of Ms. Sonia Gandhi (the interim President of the INC) and Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
Mr. Dosaju Sravan, the All Indian Congress Committee Spokesperson said, “Universities are home for students, intellectuals and activists and many social movements, revolutions have started from universities. Is Osmania University a prohibited area? Or does Rahul Gandhi belong to a banned organisation? It is extremely unfortunate that the vice chancellor and officials of prestigious Osmania University are acting as TRS slaves.”
Addressing the TPCC cadres and leaders, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy also urged to make Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Telangana a huge success.
It is to be noted that Mr. Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Telangana on the 6th of May. The visit is in view of the upcoming Rythu Sangharshana public meeting. The public meeting of the TPCC on the 6th of May is said to be a huge event, organised with the participation of the National INC leaders in Telangana’s Warangal district.
