K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 27th of December, dismissed regulated farming.

According to sources, KCR said there is no need for regulated farming, allowing farmers to sell their produce wherever they get a higher price.

During a review meeting held at Pragati Bhavan, KCR said, “The new farm laws being implemented in the country allowed the farmers to sell their crop anywhere.  Hence, the state government need not set purchase centers in the villages.”

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti Government also extended support to the agitating farmers in Delhi.

Mr. Rao led TRS Government also took part in the Nationwide Strike, organised on the 8th of December.

An official release regarding the same read, “It is not possible to do the same thing every time. The government is not a business organization or a trader.  It is not a rice miller or a dal miller. Sale and purchase is not the responsibility of the government.  It is not possible to set up purchase centers in the villages from next year onwards.”

In addition, the Telangana Government also decided that there would be no requirement for the Government to suggest the crop pattern from the next year.

The TRS Government announced regulated farming in 2020 October.

The first State with the successful implementation of regulated farming policy is Maharashtra and second was Telangana.  However, recently, KCR announced to dismiss regulated farming to benefit farmers.
