KTR Announces 2020 To Be AI Programme Year

K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister and Information Technology (IT,) Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) Minister of Telangana, announced 2020 to be AI year.

On the 25th of December, KTR declared the upcoming 2020 year to be of Artificial Intelligence (AI.) The official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made on the 2nd of January 2020.

During the official announcement in January, KTR would also announce several AI projects launching a calendar containing the events on the same day.

Ajay Prakash Sawhney, the Secretary of the NITI Aayog and Amitabh Kant, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog would be the chief event for the event on the 2nd of January 2020.

Jayesh Ranjan, the Principal Secretary of the ITE&C, said, “The State has already operationalised it’s Blockchain framework document and Drone framework document. With AI and Big Data Analytics (we are) expected to generate 8,00,000 jobs in India by 2021, Telangana will now launch its AI programme in 2020, which will be implemented by National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and guided by the AI framework document.”

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would officially sign Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with many industry and academic leaders to design the year of AI programme.
