KTR Conducts High Level Meeting Regarding COVID-19

K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, on the 14th of April, conducted a high level meeting.

The meeting was organised with the Telangana Health Minister Etala Rajender, the Telangana Police and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials.

During the meeting, KTR and other officials reviewed the current situation in the State and also planned future action to tackle the pandemic illness Novel Coronavirus.  

The action plan includes strict rules for the lockdown imposed by the State Government, deployment of police to supervise the red zone areas, supply of food to the poor and the migrant labours.

The citizens of Telangana are advised to stay indoors and are only allowed to step out of their homes for medical emergencies and essential commodities purchases.

In regard to this, the State Government announced a deposit of Rs. 1,500 in 74 lakh bank accounts belonging to White ration card holders  in the State.

KTR took to his Twitter handle and shared the news.  He said, “Around 74 plus lakh bank accounts in Telangana will be credited tomorrow with the ₹1500 as promised by Hon’ble CM KCR Garu to support during these testing times

Total of ₹1,112 Crores has been transferred by Govt to the banks.”   He also said, “More than 87% of free rice distribution also has been completed for over 76 lakh card holders. More than 3 lakh MT of rice distributed successfully

The review meeting was organised and directions were given to the concerned officials in the wake of the increasing COVID-19 infection cases in the State.  As many as 228 containment clusters were identified and announced as red zones for the spread of the Coronavirus in the 28 districts of Telangana.

On the 13th of April, the State reported 61 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus infection, increasing the number of cases to 592 till date.
