KTR Conducts Review Meeting Over Rainfall In Hyderabad

K.T. Rama Rao, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD,) on the 21st of September directed municipal authorities to set up rain relief measures. 

On the 21st of September, KTR conducted a review meeting regarding the rainfall in Telangana.

During the meeting Mr. Rao asked the officials to work and prevent human and property losses due to the incessant rains in Hyderabad.

The minister instructed the officials to cancel given leave to concerned personnel for the next two weeks and work to prevent damages due to excessive rainfall.

The officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS and SB) attended the meeting.

KTR asked the officials to take all necessary precautions and also to step up relief measures if needed. He further directed them to take up the road repair works and intensify sanitisation works in water logged areas.

As of now, nearly 170 teams are assisting the public in the emergency situation.

In addition, KTR asked to deploy additional special teams to identify the waterlogged points.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for rainfall till the 24th of September.
