Recently, of the top ten villages selected across the country, seven villages are from Telangana under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY.) The SAGY is a rural development program in which villages were selected by every region, with a focus on social and cultural development.
Villages of Old Karimnagar, and Nizamabad districts named, were under the list. The top 7 villages are Venampally, Kowlas, Ganneruvaram, Kandakurthy, Veernapally, Ramakrishnapur, and Thana Kurd.
