K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, inaugurated double bedroom houses (2BHK) houses near Rythu Bazar at Vanasthalipuram locality of L.B. Nagar zone, Hyderabad.
Spread across two acres, the double bedroom houses would be built in three blocks of Vanasthalipuram area.
Each block would have nine floors comprising 324 double bedroom houses. The houses were constructed at a cost of Rs. 28 crores.
Addressing the media at the inauguration event, Mr. Rao said, “The Government has spent Rs 9 lakh on each house which comprises a living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. No government has constructed the houses for the poor including Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.”
KTR asked the residents not to dump wastage in the blocks and maintain hygiene by setting up committees. He said unhygienic conditions will spread disease-causing germs that will have ill-effect on children.
The inauguration event was attended by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Sudheer Reddy, Mallesham, and current Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)Mayor Bonthu Rammohan.
