Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, once again took a dig against Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.

On the 9th of December, Friday, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) tweeted, “PM has one rule for Gujarat and another for Telangana.”

He shared a peice of The Statesman, highlighting how the Central Government is willing to auction four coal mines of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL.)   Calling the move of auctioning four coal mines as a conspiracy to disbalance the economic condition of the Telugu State, KTR threatened for an agitation against the Central Government.  KTR asked the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Members of Parliament (MPs) to raise this auction issue in the Parliament session.

Questioning the discrimination between Gujarat and Telangana, KTR issued a statement which pointed out that a large number of coal mines were allocated to Gujarat, but the same thing did not happen with Telangana.

Furthermore, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao said, in the recent visit of PM Narendra Modi to Ramagundem in Telangana, he ruled privatizing Singareni, with the fact that the majority stake belonged to the State Government.  However, in the Lok Sabha the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government announced that four coal mines of SCCL would be auctioned.

Mr. K.T. Rama Rao further highlighted how the SCCL is a major reason behind the flourished economy of Telangana, but auctioning four coal mines would have an adverse effect on the State.  “The actions of the Central Government were vengeful and a conspiracy to bring down the state that was flourishing,” said KTR.

He further said that Centre was conspiring to push Singareni into a loss. SCCL is at the top among the southern states in the generation of thermal power and has the best plant load factor (PLF) in the country.

KTR also said that the TRS would call for a protest against the PM Modi led Central Government, if they decide to continue with the decision of auctioning to privatize coal mines of the SCCL, which is a public entity as of now.
