A liquor shop in Sircilla was fined of Rs. 5,000 by the Sircilla police for selling liquor to a man who was without mask.

On the 8th of May, the Municipal Commissioner of Sircilla visited a liquor shop in Malkajgiri and notice the shopkeeper selling alcohol to a man who was without face mask.

Despite strict rule of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) many people were found roaming publically without face masks.   In addition, after the opening of the liquor shop, the State Government strictly implemented ‘no mask, no liquor’ rule.

However, the shop was selling alcohol violating the norm of the social distancing and the ongoing lockdown.

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on the 5th of May, allowed opening of wine shops and extended the lockdown till the 29th of May.

The State Government also warned liquor shops to follow strict rules of the lockdown and social distancing.  If anyone violates the rule, the shops would be immediately closed with further consequences and heavy fines.

Besides fines for shops, individuals roaming in public without face mask would be fined for Rs. 1,000.

Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 1,123 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 29 fatalities till date.
