Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) had focused on convincing the rebel candidates. TPCC Incharge Manikrao Thakare swung into action to talk to the rebel candidates who are unhappy over the party’s decision of giving B-forms to others.
Congress party took Telangana assembly elections prestigiously. Top leadership including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge are conducting rigorous election campaigns in Telangana.
With positive reports from the pre poll surveys Congress did intense exercise on candidate selection and finalized the candidates in three sittings.
Despite a series of consultations and promises, as many as 10 candidates from Congress party filed nominations as rebel candidates. A few rebels have already started campaigns and others are waiting for the response from the high command.
Scrutiny of nominations completed on Monday and last date for withdrawal of nominations is scheduled on Wednesday. Congress high command deployed TPCC incharg Thakare to convince the rebel candidates and make them withdraw their nominations.
TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, senior leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other key leaders started talks with the rebel candidates and assuring party positions and nominated posts after winning elections.
