The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is getting stronger in other regions of India with leaders joining the party.

On the 27th of January, Friday, Mr. Giridhar Gamang, the former Chief Minister of Odisha and nine time Member of Parliament (MP) along with several former Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) joined the BRS.  Besides Mr. Giridhar Gamang, his wife and former MP Ms. Hema Gamang, their sons Mr. Shishir and Mr. Shourya and Mr. Snehranjan Das, the Odisha Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha General Secretary, also joined the BRS.  In addition, Mr. Rabindra Mohpatra, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) member, Mr. Jayram Pangi, the former MP in Odisha, and MLAs Mr. Akshay Kumar, Ramchandra Hansda and others from BJP, Congress and Bihu Janata Dal (BJD) joined the BRS.

During an event, Mr. K. Chandrasehekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the President of the BRS, welcomed the leaders.   The event was held as a small ceremony at the Telangana Bhavan, in Hyderabad, Telangana.  During the event, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, “The harsh reality is that large sections of people are still denied basic needs such as water for drinking and irrigation, power, and healthcare among others.”  He added that India is lacking in terms of progress as the ruling Government lost the goal and failed to work on the progress of the nation.  

Furthermore, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, Odisha is also suffering from the lack of progressive agenda and positive attitude of the ruling BJP Government.  The Telangana CM and BRS President further praised the Telangana Government which surpassed it in terms of growth and development of the people, with several welfare schemes and benefits for the people.

Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, “Yeh dhan ki baat nahi, mann ki baat hai (This is not due to lack of wealth, but due to lack of commitment.)”  He added, “Some political conspirators in the country are trying to deceive people after their utter failure to fulfil their promises.”

The Odisha leaders joining the BRS have strengthened the Telangana origin National Party in the State of Odisha.  Now, the BRS is aiming to strengthen itself in states like Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.

Launched as a national party, the BRS is aiming to contest the 2024 General Elections, against the BJP.
