Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) started Bharat Jodo Yatra, from Kerala, which entered Telangana, on the 24th of October, Monday.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra is a nationwide padayatra, started on the 7th of September from Tamil Nadu, against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government, alleging them of spreading hatred in India. 

The yatra, launched by Mr. Rahul Gandhi aims to promote harmony and brotherhood in India. The foot march would also raise the issues of price rise and unemployment under the leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.

The yatra which recently covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, respectively now entered Telangana.  During the yatra, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, “We don’t want two Indias.  We want only one India and all should get justice and employment in it.  There should be brotherhood in the country.” 

Meanwhile, in Telangana, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) leaders welcomed Mr. Rahul Gandhi and the INC delegation, walking for the Bharat Jodo Yatra, in a grand manner.

Mr. Manickam Tagore, the INC Lok Sabha member and in charge of party affairs in Telangana along with Mr. A. Revanth Reddy, the President of the TPCC and other INC leaders welcomed Mr. Rahul Gandhi.  The INC delegation started their yatra from the Narayanpet region of the Telugu State.  However, the Bharat Jodo Yatra was halted amid Diwali and would resume from the 27th of October, from Narayanpet.  In Telangana, the INC delegation led by Mr. Rahul Gandhi would cover 19 assembly constituencies and seven Parliamentary constituencies for a distance of 375 km, before entering Maharashtra on the 7th of November.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi would be undertaking 20-25 km ‘padayatra’ every day and interacting with people during the foot march.  During the yatra, he would meet intellectuals, leaders of various communities, politicians, sports, business and cinema personalities.

Furthermore, Mr. Rahul Gandhi would also visit some prayer halls, mosques and temples in Telangana.
