The South Central Railways (SCR) announced special 94 trains, which would be operated to various destinations in the southern region, during the Makar Sankranti festival in January.
On the 27th of December, Tuesday, the SCR said, considering the festival rush between Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and other regions, the administration decided to run additional trains.
The special trains operation would begin from the 1st of January till the 20th of January, 2023. These trains would be operated on different dates and timings from various popular destinations to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The rail tickets for reserved coaches could be book through online mode from the official website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC.)
Similarly, passengers wishing to travel by unreserved coaches can purchase their tickets through UTS on the mobile App.
Mr. Arun Kumar Jain, the General Manager of the South Central Railway, urged the travellers to use this special facility of additional trains and avoid rushing in regular vehicles. Furthermore, the SCR also confirmed to make additional facilities like increased staff, food availability in these special trains and other facilities to handle the Sankranti rush in the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
