Tamilisai Soundararajan Addresses Budget Assembly Session, Praises Telangana Government For Economic Strategies

Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, on the 15 th of March, addressed the Budget Assembly session.

The Telangana Government began its Budget Assembly session from the 15th of March. The State Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy launched the 2021-2022 Budget session in the legislative assembly. The session began at 11:00 A.M., with the Governor’s speech, addressing the Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) and the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs.)

K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, the State cabinet ministers, MLAs, MLCs and others attended the session.

Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “Telangana is focusing on the welfare works and has been the number one in state in the development attaining several milestones. The Government is striving for all the sections of people and creating more employment opportunities with industrialization.” In her speech, Ms. Soundararajan said, all states of India suffered a blow in terms of economy due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic and are working to get back on track. Ms. Soundararajan said the average annual growth of the State was 17.24 %.

Ms. Soundararajan said In 2013-2014, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) was Rs. 4,51,580 crore and it increased to Rs. 9,69,604 crores in 2019-2020, a 114.71 % increase. Adding to it, she said the per capita income increased from Rs. 1,12,162 in 2013-2014 to Rs. 2,28,216 in 2019-2020.

The estimated per capita income in 2020-2021 would be Rs. 2,27,145 and the estimated GSDP would be Rs. 9,78,373 crores.

Praising Telangana for their economic strategies, the Governor said, Telangana took steps strategically. The Government has also taken several measures to curb the Coronavirus effectively and are conducting vaccination drives successfully. She also said, Telangana has a good recovery rate of 98.88 % from the Novel Coronavirus.

Following the speech, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) is going to meet. During the meeting, the BAC would decide upon the duration of the Assembly session.

Meanwhile, on the 18th of March, T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, would present the 2021-2022 Budget outlay for Telangana.
