On the 12th of July, Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, received the second dose of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine.
After taking her second shot of vaccine against the Wuhan virus, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan took to her Twitter handle and posted, “Glad to have taken my second dose of #COVID19 Vaccine along with tribal people at KC Thanda, Ranga Reddy district, #Telangana.

With this, she also urged people of Telangana, especially those residing in rural regions to be cautious of the Novel Coronavirus and take their vaccine doses. She said, “Everyone should take COVID-19 vaccine jab to fight against the virus (Wuhan virus.”)
According to sources, the Telangana Governor took her second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at KC Tanda in Maheshwaram Assembly constituency. She took her second dose with the Tribal people at a village PHC (Public Health Centre) in Rangareddy, Telangana.
Speaking to the tribals, The State Governor said, “Low percentage of vaccination is being recorded in the tribal hamlets. I’m here to tell you to be brave and get vaccinated to tackle COVID-19. Everyone should get the jab and tell others to get vaccinated. Also, everyone should wear a mask, follow physical distance and wash hands or use sanitizer frequently.”
The decision to take the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine along with Tribals was taken to create awareness amongst the tribals, who are hesitant to take the doses. Ms. Tamilisai in a press meet said, “I would get my second jab along with the Adivasis in their location in Telangana on Monday so that they would become aware of the inoculation to keep the pandemic at bay.” She even inaugurated a three day vaccination festival in a coastal village Veerampattinam, Telangana, starting from the 12th of July.
Meanwhile, till date, the Telangana Health Department administered vaccine doses to 1.20 crore people.
