On the 8th of April, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mecha Nageswara Rao quit the Party.
Mr. Nageswara Rao addressed the media and said that he quit the TDP and joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for the development of Aswaraopeta Assembly constituency.
To a question why he took the decision, Nageswara Rao said the Chief Minister of Telangana K.Chandrashekar Rao has assured him to provide funds for the constituency development. He said, “I was unable to take up developmental works in my constituency for the last two-and-a-half years as I was opposition MLA.”
The MLA opined that there is no future for the TDP in Telangana and added that allocation of funds would be meagre for constituencies represented by non-TRS MLAs.
