In the latest development of the paddy procurement issue, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is expected to meet Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
It is to be noted, Mr. K Chandrasekhar Rao is currently in Delhi and sought appointment to meet Mr. Narendra Modi. During the meeting, KCR would discuss the ongoing paddy procurement issue of the Telugu State. The expected meeting is scheduled to be held a day after the 72 hours deadline announced by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government came to an end.
It is known that the Telangana Government announced a deadline of 72 hours for the Central Government to take a stand on the paddy procurement issue, which ended on the 21st of November. The Telangana CM said, if the Bharatiya Janata Party led Central Government fails to fulfil their demand of 100 % paddy purchase, they would intensify their agitation and would stage a protest in the National Capital, Delhi.
Meanwhile, after the expected meeting, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao would direct the farmers of Telangana on paddy cultivation based on the centre’s decision on paddy purchase.
Besides the paddy procurement issue, the Telangana CM is also likely to discuss the Krishna water sharing issue, setting up of Krishna tribunal, tribal reservation, the Scheduled Caste (SC) census and other State related issues.
During the expected meeting, the TRS ministers like Mr. Niranjan Reddy, Mr. Gangula Kamalakar and Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, would also be present.
