Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced to donate 1 kg and 16 tolas of gold for the renovated Yadadri Temple.

The donation was made on behalf of the Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao family. The announcement was made after the Telangana Chief Minister visited the Yadadri Shrine and inspected the ongoing work. After the inspection, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao held a press meet in the evening and announced the official date of the inauguration of the renovated Yadadri Temple in the district.

Besides KCR, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Member of Parliament (MP) and a Minister announced to donate 14 tolas of gold. Mr. Malla Reddy, the Labour Minister of Telangana, also announced a donation of 1 kg of gold along with 1 kg from the people and government officials of his constituency.

Mr. M. Janardhan Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Nagarkunrool would also donate 2 kg of gold. Chinna Jeeyar Swamy also announced to donate 1 kg of gold for the Yadadri shrine from his peetham.

Mr. Ranjith Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the TRS, the Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) Mr. K. Naveen Kumar, Mr. Shambhipur Raju, MLAs Mr. A. Gandhi, Mr. M. Hanumantha Rao, Mr. M. Krishna Rao and Mr. K.P. Vivek Anand also came forward to donate 6 kg of gold in collaboration.

Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, for the gold planting of Vimana Gopuram, 125 kgs of gold worth Rs. 65 crores is needed. The gold planting of Vimana Gopuram is made on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati temple and is similar to the design at the Lord Venkateshwar Temple.

After KCR’s step to donate gold, many MLAs, MLCs, TRS leaders and collectors came forward to donate gold. The remaining gold would be taken from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI.) KCR addressed the media and said, “Since we need a huge quantity of gold, it is decided to accept donations from individuals and organizations. Even donations as small as Rs. 11 will be accepted as everyone should feel that Yadadri is their own temple.”

The renovated Yadadri Shrine of Lord Laxminarasimha Swamy with a cost of Rs. 18,000 crore would be inaugurated and thrown open to the public on the 28th of March, 2022.
