K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, would get the famous Balapur laddu.
The Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi decided to cancel the auction this year and hand over the laddu of Ganesh Chaturthi to CM KCR.
The decision was taken in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak in the State.
Niranjan Reddy, the President of the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi said, “As there is no laddu auction this year, we have decided to present laddu as ‘Ganesha prasadam’ to C M, KCR. We are trying to meet C M and taking appointment through school education minister, Sabitha Indra Reddy.”
The 21 kg laddu would be presented as a token of lord Ganesha’s Prasad to K. Chandrasekhar Rao after a special pooja.
The Balapur auction is a tradition followed in Telangana since the Samithi started.
Every year, nearly 1.50 lakh people attend the auction which is organised in Balapur village of Telangana.
The laddu would be given after the Balapur Ganesh Shobha Yatra. The yatra would begin amid police security in the evening and lord Ganesh would be immersed at Hussain Sagar by 5:00 P.M.
