Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, once again lashed out at the Central Government, over the paddy procurement issue.
In a recent press conference, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President said, “The State Government will spend Rs. 250 crores, hire 1,000 lorries and dump the paddy.” Lamenting at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government, the Telangana Chief Minister, they will dump all the unprocured paddy in front of the India Gate, Delhi.
The warning also included dumping paddy in front of the BJP office and outside union minister Kishan Reddy’s residence. Expressing anger, KCR said, “The Center is behaving like a Kirana (retail) shop and is looking for a profit motive in everything. A Government shouldn’t always look for a profit motive. It has a social responsibility to discharge.”
He claimed the Central Government as anti farmer and said, “This NDA Government should be dethroned for the sake of farmers and common people of this country. They have raised prices of almost everything that a middle-class person uses on a daily basis.”
Highlighting another policy of the BJP Government, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, “It is due to their policy that 750 farmers committed suicide. The BJP’s sole gain in the last eight years is to destroy the social fabric of the society.”
He also targeted the BJP Government over the recent withdrawal of the Three Farm Laws, saying, “If the farm laws were good, why did you repeal them and apologize to the farmers? What is your credibility now? BJP will have to apologize to the farmers of Telangana as well.”
The paddy procurement issue between the BJP and the TRS is intensifying, every passing day, making it a big political issue in the Telugu State.
