In Telangana, the Election Commission (EC) rejected the proposal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to hold an anti-KCR (K. Chandrashekar Rao) poster campaign in the State.
According to sources, the Election Commission of India (ECI) reviewed the proposal of the BJP unit in Telangana and denied permission for a poster campaign against Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana. The ECI furthermore clarified that any political parties should not make any derogatory campaigns against political leaders, therefore rejecting the campaign.
It is to be noted that the saffron party sought permission from the Media Certification Committee of the EC for holding a poster campaign called ‘Saalu Dora – Selavu Dora (Enough Elder Man- Bye elder man.)
However, the ECI committee expressed its objection to the campaign and asked the State BJP leadership under Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar to stop the campaign immediately.
The BJP is making efforts to not only strengthen itself in the Telugu State but launching rallies and schemes to tarnish the image of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) it is President KCR and its leaders.
