Telangana Government decides to honor NTR

Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandra Sekhar Rao honors NTR.

On Friday, the Telangana State Government declared that every year in honor of the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, they will present a National Award in his name. From 2017, the State Government will give its own State Film Awards on Ugadi. These will replace the Nandi Awards which were given previously by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana Government changed the name to NTR Awards and will be presented every year in his honor.

The late N.T.R., was a famous Telugu Superstar and the founder of Telugu Desam Party. Hence the naming of these prestigious awards by the rival and leading party Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) came as a surprise. The awards will be presented to nineteen different categories. Also along with the N.T.R., Award the Paidi Jayaraj Film Award, Raghupati Venkaiah, Kantarao and Prabhakar Reddy Awards will also be presented. In the movies that promote national integration, the best one would be presented with Sarojini Naidu Award.

Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandra Sekhar Rao has previously praised N.T.R., time and again. He also revealed that N.T.R., was the one actor he appreciated the most.
