In the view of the ongoing protest of farmers, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government canceled the land pooling process for development of Outer Ring Road (ORR.)
Notably, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Government announced land pooling for the ORR in Warangal. The Telangana Government proposed to acquire land in 28 villages of Warangal, seeking consent of land owners for pooling in the city. The notification regarding the land pooling was issued on the 30th of April. Notably, the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) proposed to develop ORR for a stretch of 41 km, covering 21,510 acres of land of 28 villages of three districts; Hanmakonda, Warangal and Jangaon.
However, the farmers in Warangal staged a protest, demanding the withdrawal of the land pooling orders. Considering the protest, the TRS Government issued an order on the night of the 30th of May, Monday and withdrew the orders.
Mr. Arvind Kumar, the Special Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development, said that the TRS Government directed the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) to forthwith withdraw the notification.
The decision was taken after the TRS leaders from Warangal held a discussion with Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana.
